RoundHeaven Bullish On Inkra Networks' New Hosting Architecture

RoundHeaven Press Release - Feb 21, 2002

Vancouver, BC, February 21, 2002--RoundHeaven Communications announced that it is in trials testing Inkra Networks' new Virtual Service Architecture.

Inkra Networks, a Silicon-Valley based company with engineering offices in Burnaby, announced that its Virtual Service Architecture is now in trials by more than half a dozen service providers around the globe, including RoundHeaven Communications, Deutsche Telekom, Exodus (now a Cable and Wireless service), and SAVVIS Communications.

These and other managed service providers are testing Inkra's Profit Center management and provisioning software suite, and are anxiously awaiting delivery of the Inkra hardware platform. Inkra's VSA forms the basis of a new, dynamic, and vastly more profitable service delivery model. "Service providers with data center architectures built on a pile of discrete appliances have no easy way to automate service creation and configuration changes, and they face continually rising capital and operational costs as their business grows," said Sanjay Dhawan, president and CEO of Inkra Networks, "With Inkra's VSA, providers can quickly and cost-effectively provision, manage, and scale services for hundreds of customers or applications without the cost or complexity of discrete appliances. Finally, data center operators can have the performance and security of dedicated appliances along with the simplified management and reduced costs of a shared system."

By virtualizing hardware under a unified management system, VSA enables extremely rapid service additions or changes that are non-disruptive to customers.

"RoundHeaven is one of the leading providers of fully-managed hosting solutions in Canada," said Robert Offley, President and CEO. "We have been testing Inkra's Profit Center management suite for more than a month and are pleased with its automation capabilities that promise to help us keep operational costs under control. Further, Inkra's HardWall technology is an important innovation. Even as we're realizing the time and cost savings from a more centralized, automated approach to service delivery, our customers can be assured that we will be able to deploy our signature Internet Commerce, Intranet, Extranet and Disaster Recovery Solutions quickly and reliably."

Inkra's HardWall technology mimics the performance characteristics of dedicated appliances, providing separation for each customer's configuration. Inkra's Profit Center management suite provides a high degree of automation, allowing service providers to reduce provisioning and configuration change times and increase customer responsiveness. The Profit Center management suite includes interfaces to leading service provider management and billing systems, allowing service providers to leverage the systems they already have.
